Check Out the Landmark Gold Bar Exhibit at the Denver Mint

After 9/11, public displays of gold were mostly ceased around the nation. In 2012, the Denver Mint launched the first public display of gold since that date. Watch this video for a peek at the exhibit opening and a look into the storied history of the mint itself.

The Denver Mint dates back to 1858, when gold was first discovered in Colorado. Today, the Denver Mint creates all denominations of circulating coins as well as commemorative coins and the Denver D coins of the annual uncirculated set. As a repository, the Denver Mint stores gold and silver bullion.
